Color Finishing & Technical Multicam Conform for Live Productions

Technical post-production for complex live-event and concert workflows — from difficult LED stage lighting and mixed-camera color matching to broken timecode, unreliable metadata, and challenging multicam conforms.

TECHNICAL CASE STUDIES

Case Study 01: Stage LED Gamut Recovery & Highlight Reconstruction [UHD]

A/B comparison showing the recovery of out-of-gamut blue and magenta stage lighting while preserving natural highlight roll-off and skin-tone separation. The process restores tonal continuity without flattening the intensity and atmosphere of the original lighting design.

Technical Note: Live concert footage and color finishing by CBOS Studio. Audio elements were synthetically generated for portfolio demonstration purposes.

Case Study 02: Multicam Color Matching & Show Normalization

Shot-to-shot balancing and camera matching across a heterogeneous 12+ camera setup and more than 2,000 editorial cuts, under constantly changing and unscripted stage lighting conditions.

Technical Note: Final master QC and delivery performed to the applicable broadcast specifications, including EBU R103 and ITU-R BT.709.

Core Capabilities

MULTICAM CONFORM

Metadata Recovery & Conform Automation

We troubleshoot and rebuild complex multicam conforms when reel names, source timecode, metadata, XML, EDL, or other editorial interchange data is incomplete or unreliable. Our in-house tools help reconstruct and realign camera originals while preserving the editorial structure of the show.

COLOR MANAGEMENT

Scene-Referred Color Architecture

A consistent, scene-referred node architecture separates input transforms, exposure normalization, gamut management, and look development. This keeps technical corrections independent from creative decisions while preserving image integrity across multiple cameras and deliverables.

SIGNAL RECOVERY

Out-of-Gamut LED Stage Recovery

High-intensity, narrow-band LED fixtures can push individual channels far outside the expected display gamut, producing clipped or unnatural color. We recover usable tonal and chromatic information, rebuild highlight roll-off, and control extreme colors without unnecessarily desaturating the surrounding stage environment.
